Türkiye Akademik Forum 2024, ülkemizin prestijli üniversitelerinden gelen akademisyen ve araştırmacıların en son çalışmalarını ve projelerini sizlerle buluşturuyor. Bu yılki forumda, MATLAB & Simulink ile geniş uygulama alanlarından faydalanarak gerçekleştirilen yenilikçi araştırmalar ve eğitim müfredatlarına dair derinlemesine bilgiler edineceksiniz.

What’s new in MATLAB for teaching

MATLAB in Biomedical Optics & MEMS
Bio (EN): Onur Ferhanoğlu earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Bilkent University in 2003 and 2005. Subsequently, he embarked on his research journey at Koç University, focusing on the development of MEMS thermal imaging sensors. Moving on to a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Texas at Austin between 2011 and 2014, Dr. Ferhanoğlu played an instrumental role in crafting an ultrafast laser microsurgery scalpel. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Istanbul Technical University. His research agenda encompasses Biomedical Optics and MEMS, earning him the distinguished IEEE Turkey Research Encouragement Award in 2019.

EN:Dr. Dede graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University, and Florida International University earning BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees respectively. He worked as a mechatronics design engineer at Aselsan Inc. in the early 2000s. He reintegrated back to Turkey by receiving the Marie-Curie Fellowship in 2009. He is currently the Chair and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology (IzTech). He has been the principal investigator of various international and national projects. He has more than 100 publications including a book, book chapters, articles, papers, and patents on mechanism design, robotics, teleoperation systems, underwater robotics, and haptics. He has served as Executive Committee Member of IFToMM in 2016-2019 and 2020 – 2023 terms. He is the director of IzTech Robotics Laboratory and Human-Robot Interaction Laboratory, and co-director of Modelling and Prototyping Laboratory in IzTech.

Spacecraft Communication
EN:Dr. Sengil received the B.S. degree in control systems from the Naval Academy, Istanbul, in 1980, M.S. degree in engineering science from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, USA, in 1986, and the Ph.D. degree in astronautical engineering from Istanbul Technical University, Istanbul, in 2008. He served with the Turkish Navy as a Naval Engineer from 1980 to 2000. He was with different private companies as a Senior Engineer from 2000 to 2010. He is currently a Faculty Member with the Department of Astronautical Engineering, University of Turkish Aeronautical Association, Ankara. His current research interests include particle simulations of gas/plasma flows, spacecraft attitude determination and control, spacecraft communication and rocket propulsion. Dr. Sengil is a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
